On this page, we will share more about the different portfolios in the Bridge Design Competition Committee and how we come together to make the competition possible.
Chairperson &
Vice-Chairperson
Do you know? The word 'chair' comes in the sense of 'occupant of the chair', the person presiding during the meeting. For this year edition of the Bridge Design Competition, our chairperson & vice-chairperson is none other than Sze Hui & Poh Yi! They are responsible to ensure the committee board is effective in setting and implementing the event's direction and strategy.
Secretary
What will be a competition without any participants? Mark, our event secretary plays an essential role in reaching out to the different universities all over the world to invite them to join our competition. Besides sourcing participants, he also ensures effective communication between school staff and committee members by keeping them updated regarding the preparation progress and also preparing certificates for participants and Committee members who put in so much effort to make the event a successful one.
Business Manager
Our business manager, Mabel, is responsible for the financial aspect of this event. With her superb branding and marketing skills, she works hard to secure sponsorship for the event. Other than that, she also plays an important role in liaising with the sponsors to achieve financial and marketing goals.
Event Directors
Our event directors are Jenson, Kezia, Jun Yuan and Cheng Zong! They are the core of the event planning. They brainstorm the competition's theme, rules, regulations and assessment, and they have meticulously crafted the case study for the different rounds in the competition. In case you don't already know, BDC 2025 is a two-round technical case competition that simulates the tendering process in the construction sector!
Logistics
Introducing Ariel and Zheng Liang, the guys behind the scenes! Although logistic officers contribute silently, don't underestimate the power of silence, their role is important! They are accounting for all assets of our event and also work closely with the event directors to think of ideas for organizing the competition. Other than that they are also responsible for preparing the necessary logistics required.
